Classified Website in Ruby on Rails

The Client

Attiques is an Ireland based company. Two years ago, the owners had recognized the absence of an antique online platform and established four websites, irelandsattic.com, walesattic.com,  scotlandsattic.com and  englandsattic.com. Attiques is a dedicated website for the promotion of antique sales and services globally. Client wanted to develop the site for members to place classified for their antique items.

Client have provided list of features, which is required in developed website. Proposed list of features provided to end user are as under:

Solution

Attiques.com is the solution for given requirements of classified website by client, designed with user-friendly interface for end-user and administrator of the site. Using attiques.com, a user can able to visit site and search antiques from listed items, view item description and uploaded photos, see upcoming events, articles, site statistics, and featured and highlighted items of site, browse items regions/sub-regions and categories/sub-categories wise, and suggest a friend for any particular item through ´tell a friend´ functionality of site.

User can apply different kind of filters on searched items, sort listed items and searched items using various sorting criteria, and view price of listed items in various currency.

Users can become a member of site after completing sign-up process. Members are able to login in to site using ´login´ functionality. After login to attiques.com, a member is able to use various functionalities of the site provided to registered members. Members can select appropriate membership/subscription plan, upload listed items, wanted items, and item to appraise through member account page. Members are able to manage all the uploaded items under any membership/subscription plan.

Members can add new event, article or link exchange directory through member account page. Member can communicate with other members of site using internal mailing system, comments on listed items, wanted items, items to appraise, events, member profile, etc, and view all comments posted on their own profile and items. Members are able to add any contact in their friends list.

We have provided administrator control panel for attiques, which require login of administrator for access for any given functionality. Administrator can manage different parameters of site, view the site statistics, and manage all members´ details. Administrator can able to manage all uploaded listed items, wanted items and item to appraise by administrator control panel. Administrator can manage all articles and events created by any members of site as well add article and event. Administrator can manage pricing of various features of site as well as membership/ subscription plan, and set prices and periods of various plans.
